The Lead Credentialing Specialist will oversee the consistent application and credentialing verification processes for assigned Divisions. The lead must also serve as the HTWS-DHP liaison between HCA facilities Human Resources, Medical Staff Office personnel, Dependent Professionals, and external customers. This position will be responsible for continuously reviewing workflows and implementing process improvements. The lead is responsible for monitoring established metrics for DHP Credentialing Specialists and ensuring proper tools are provided to meet production goals. Ensures rapport is established with all facilities in assigned divisions as well as with division-specific agency contacts.

  • Serves as primary contact to all HCA HR and MSO personnel regarding the DHP & Verified Professional’s Credentialing Processes

  • Establishes relationships with key personnel at all agencies within all divisions

  • Closely monitors and ensures high compliance percentage for assigned divisions

  • Responsible for assigning all initial and renewal applications for DHP & VPro’s requesting access to HCA facilities, keeps track of all Master Log reports/cards created/deleted and forwards reports to manager on a daily basis

  • Assign and monitor all Credentialing Specialists Uploads and Follow ups

  • Monitors and ensures DHP & VPro’s Credentialing Specialists high production and quality standards

  • Maintains effective communication with all Division leadership via scheduled calls to ensure uniformity with the credentialing process as needed

  • Works closely with facilities in preparation of and during all QRS and JC audits

  • Maintains accurate records of all files in Staff PM & Verified Professionals; records all activities as applicable in the diary

  • Ensures all files are processed via StaffPm & VPro

  • Communicates applicable updates and notices to agencies

  • Creates ad hoc reports as requested

  • Maintains privacy and confidentiality (intentional or unintentional) of company and employee information in verbal, written, and electronic form

  • Limits access to all information to job-related on a need to know basis

  • Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.

  • Notifies Operations/Credentialing Manager of problem-causing trends with vendors and employees items needing attention

  • Assist all Credentialing Specialists with file process questions, escalations, exceptions.

  • Assist and guide business analyst with all departmental needs and reports in order to measure KPI’s and implement SOP’s

  • Monitor and implement training with new hires and refreshers for employees on a as needed basis

  • Monitors and ensures DHP & VPro’s Quality Assurance Specialists high production and quality standards

  • Schedule and create agenda for all Credentialist Specialists meetings Bi-Weekly

  • Creating step by step and how-to’s for Credentialing Specialist & Quality Assurance for internal processes

EDUCATION – High school education or GED Equivalent Required

EXPERIENCE – One to three years leading prior teams or projects



  • Requires prolonged sitting. and exerting up to 10 lbs force occasionally

  • Requires and some bending, stooping, and stretching

  • Require eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.

  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.

  • Require dexterity to type at least 60 WPM

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, general office products

  • Work is performed in an office environment and involves frequent contact with staff and the public.
